Vol. 01
A journal for the heartEst. 2025

Quiet pages
for a soul
remembering & returning.

Saraly is a gentle journaling companion rooted in Islamic tradition — guiding your reflection through Quran, hadith, the Hijri calendar, and the rhythms of prayer. Built for the days you have words, and the days you only have a whisper.

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious

An invocation

وَاذْكُر رَّبَّكَ إِذَا نَسِيتَ

“And remember your Lord when you forget.”

Quran 18:24

The Practice

A faith-rooted way to know yourself, one quiet page at a time.

Saraly weaves together three small acts — noticing, naming, and returning — into a daily practice gentle enough for hard weeks and rich enough for the rest.

A prompt that meets you where you are

Each morning Saraly composes a reflection drawn from Qur'an and hadith, tuned to your mood, season, and the day of the Hijri calendar.

Write the heart in its own language

Type, speak, or scribble. Voice notes transcribe privately on-device. Mood tags hold the feeling so the words can come slowly.

Quiet patterns, gently surfaced

Notice what you've been carrying lately. Saraly traces themes across weeks — gratitude, fear, hope — without ranking or grading.

Today · 24 Rajab

Finding Allah's wisdom in hardship.

You're facing a challenge that feels overwhelming right now. How might Allah be using this difficulty to strengthen your faith, develop your character, or redirect your path? What lessons about patience, reliance on Allah, or inner strength is this experience teaching you?

“And it is possible that you dislike a thing which is good for you, and that you love a thing which is bad for you.”Quran 2:216
Today's reflection

A prompt is a gentle hand, not an assignment.

Saraly's prompts are written in the warm, humble voice of a wise friend — never preachy, never grading. Just a question, a verse, and the patience to wait while you write.

  • Anchored to a verse or hadith you can sit with.
  • Adapts to your mood — softer on weary days, brighter on grateful ones.
  • Honors the Hijri calendar — Ramadan, Rajab, Muharram each carry their own questions.

For the words that don't want to be typed.

Some mornings the heart is too full for fingers. Tap once, speak — and let your reflection come in its own voice.

  • Voice notes captured and turned into entries you can revisit.
  • English & Arabic supported, gently punctuated.
  • Always tied back to the prompt that drew it out.

AI prompt

An AI raised on the gentleness of the tradition.

Saraly's prompts are composed with care — drawn from the Qur'an, the hadith, and the rhythms of your own practice. Always cited. Never authoritative.

  • Grounded in Qur'an, hadith, and the lives of the companions.
  • Uses honorifics correctly — PBUH, RA, AS — by default.
  • Refuses to give fatwa. It only invites reflection.

A calendar that knows when Ramadan is.

The Gregorian month says nothing about your soul. Saraly tracks the Hijri year alongside it, gently shifting prompts and themes as you move through Rajab, Sha'ban, Ramadan, and beyond.

  • Live prayer times, calibrated to your city.
  • Sunnah fasts and sacred nights surface as soft notes.
  • Reflections that follow the season of the heart.

Reflections — gentle patterns

Look back without keeping score.

Saraly's analytics aren't streaks and grades. They're a soft mirror — themes you've been carrying, verses that keep returning, the moods that found you most often this month.

  • No streaks, no leaderboards, no nudging guilt.
  • Patterns surfaced gently — only when you ask to look.
  • Every insight returns you to a verse, not a metric.

A notebook that holds the year.

Every entry is gathered into a quiet archive — searchable, filterable by mood or theme, and always yours. The pages stay between you and Allah.

  • Search across years; filter by mood, theme, or season.
  • Export your entries any time — your words travel with you.
  • End-to-end private. Never used to train any model.

Sincerity by design

Your qalb is no one's product.

  1. i.

    Your entries belong to you.

Your journal is private to your account. We don't share it, sell it, or use it to train anyone else's models.

    AI analysis is opt-in.

If you turn on AI analysis (a Saraly Plus feature), an entry is sent for processing only when you ask for it — never automatically, never in the background.

  3. iii.

Daily prompts don't read your journal.

The prompts we compose for you are drawn from the season, the Hijri calendar, and the moods you choose — not from the words you've written.

Asked & answered

Everything we're often asked about.

If something else is on your heart, write to us at contact@getsaraly.com.

Is Saraly affiliated with a particular madhab?+
No. Saraly is a journaling tool, not a fatwa source. Our prompts and verses come from sources accepted across Sunni and Shi'a traditions, and we deliberately avoid taking jurisprudential positions. For matters of fiqh, please consult a scholar you trust.
Does the AI replace a teacher or imam?+
It doesn't, and it isn't trying to. Saraly composes reflective questions, not rulings. Think of it as a thoughtful friend who hands you a verse to sit with — never a substitute for an alim, a halaqa, or a heart-to-heart with a teacher.
Can my husband, mother, or daughter use Saraly too?+
Yes — Saraly is for any believing heart. Our voice and prompts have a feminine warmth (after our namesake, Sara RA), but the practice is universal.
What languages do you support?+
English first, with full Arabic script support for verses, du'a, and your own writing. More interface languages are on the way, in shaa Allah.
What happens to my journal if I cancel?+
You keep full access to your entries on the free plan — read, write, and export them whenever you like. Cancelling Saraly Plus only turns off the premium features; nothing in your journal is taken away.
Why does the app cost money?+
Because we'd rather be paid by you than by advertisers, data brokers, or attention. Saraly Plus pays for the people who build it and the infrastructure that keeps it running, so the app can stay honest about who it serves.
A note from the founder

I started Saraly in a hard year. I needed somewhere to be honest with Allah and with myself, and I couldn't find an app that felt like the kind of friend I needed — gentle, rooted, unhurried. So I made one.

Saraly is named for Sara RA, the wife of Ibrahim AS, whose story is one of patience, presence, and quiet trust. Every line of this app is written with her in mind — and with you, the believer who reads this and thinks maybe I could begin again. You can. You always can.

BarakAllahu feekum for being here. May Allah accept from us, and from you.
